Text Messages Alerts
CEMA regularly sends text message alerts about local emergencies including impending storms, potential flooding, heat warning and road closures. To get important updates via text message, text ‘FOLLOW CHATHAMEMA’ to 40404.
Community Notification System
CEMA encourages everyone who lives, works and visits Savannah and Chatham County to sign up to receive emergency notifications on their cells phones through Swift911 (used to be the Community Notification System or CNS). As of 2018 Chatham County residents can sign up for a new system to get alerts about severe weather, major road closures and other emergencies.
